The September MDT

Upskill Studio | Guest Talks

Our September Upskill Studio brings together two professionals who offer their professional perspectives on supporting children, families, and the relationships around them.

Victoria Angel | Dance Movement Therapist
Motherhood, Redefined: Reclaiming Instinct, Attachment and Attunement Beyond Biology

Victoria will explore motherhood beyond biology, considering maternal instinct, attachment and attunement, and how babies communicate and connect before words. The session will invite reflection on what we inherit, what we choose to pass on, and the role of embodied and non-verbal communication in early relationships.

Inge Gouws | Educational Psychologist
Beyond the Therapy Room: Co-Creating Ethical ‘Anxiety Support Packs’ for Parents and Teachers

Inge will explore childhood anxiety and the role of the wider support system around the child. The session will consider systemic co-regulation, ethical information sharing and confidentiality, and how to develop practical anxiety support collaboratively with parents and teachers.

In this session, you'll explore:

* Motherhood, maternal instinct, attachment and attunement
* The baby as a communicator before words
* What we inherit and what we choose to pass on
* Understanding anxiety in children
* Systemic co-regulation and the environments surrounding the child
* The ‘Anxiety Support Pack’ framework
* Ethical information sharing and confidentiality
